AMBI
What is AMBI?
Frankly, we are rather offended by the indications of AMBI. AMBI claims to be the skincare line for “women of color” as if somehow “women of color” have a special skin type that doesn’t apply to Caucasian women or Caucasian people in general. But they apparently make quite a bit of money off this mistaken concept.
History of AMBI
AMBI has apparently been around for only a few years, and they have been sold on different sites such as eBay and Amazon. They focus on a number of very particular ingredients it seems, and there have been reports from some groups more than others as to its effects.
Benefits
When you get a chemical peel, they generally don’t perform the harsher chemical peels on those with darker skin or those with sensitive skin, because as you might have seen with some public figures, harsher chemical peels actually significantly bleach the skin. Apparently AMBI thought this was a really good idea, because most of their ingredients are meant to bleach the skin, not to prevent wrinkles. They don’t have any wrinkle fighters.
Side Effects
There is a higher likelihood with the ingredients considered of AMBI causing redness, irritation, flaking, sensitivity to the sun, and otherwise.
Conclusion
We really aren’t fond of AMBI both for their false advertising methods as well as the ingredients they actually use to perpetuate certain lacks of results and stereotypes in general. If you actually like the above named effects of AMBI, which are generally quite negative, you would actually get greater effects from harsher chemical peels. But we wouldn’t suggest either one.
