Juvederm
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is an injectable gel that helps you to supposedly get rid of wrinkles with a hyaluronic acid filler. It is FDA approved and it can apparently last up to 1 year at a time. It naturally cushions the skin, and it is said to look so smooth and natural that no one will actually notice. It is also the “first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.” Let’s be honest here. No filler has been suggested to be unsafe for specific races, so this is a ploy.
History of Juvederm
Juvederm comes in 2 forms, an injectable gel and ultra plus for a more robust formulation for volumizing and getting rid of wrinkles. It is only compared to Restylane in terms of being made of the same ingredient. And frankly an ingredient is an ingredient. They do not change just because somebody else manufactures them in use in fillers.
Benefits
This could naturally cushion your skin. But we highly doubt it will last for a year. Realistically, your body will break it down at a much higher rate than that. In addition, some have noted that the fillers have actually moved from their original spot causing other problems.
Side Effects
Side effects include the injection moving, diminishing, pain at injection site, redness, burning, rash, stinging, sun sensitivity, dry skin, inflammation, dermatitis, and flaking.
Conclusion
There are so many reasons why we would not suggest Juvederm. It doesn’t have the potential that many would think it would if you only listened to Juvederm’s claims. We are sure that Restylane doesn’t appreciate them considering that they are generally untrue. Juvederm is just not a product or service you should use.
